Helm Pass for iPhone, iPad and Android

Helm Pass has four tabs at the foot: Learn, Practice, Exam and Settings. Everything works offline.

Learn

At the top is your exam readiness: the share of questions you have mastered, the two topics you know least and, if you set a date, the days left to the exam. The blue key under it takes you straight to the questions.

Below are the study topics, eight of them plus an introduction to the exam itself. Each topic has a mastery bar and ends in a row with that topic's questions. A question is mastered after two right answers in a row.

Practice

Choose

Questions with four answers. Pick one and see at once whether it is right and why. Pick topics in the row under the title. Questions you keep missing come back more often.

Oral

The question as the board asks it. Answer out loud, tap Reveal the answer and compare with the points of a good answer. Then mark whether you knew it. What you did not know comes back tomorrow, what you knew in a week.

Chart tasks

16 tasks on a practice chart of Vela bay. Type a number for each step and tap Check; after the check the solution is drawn on the chart. On iPhone and iPad the tasks are in Practice, Chart. On Android they are in Learn, Charts and tasks, where you can also tap the chart for a position, course and distance.

Exam

The mock exam runs like the board: area by area, then the chart task and knots. You see the answers only at the end, with a result per area and a review of your wrong answers. If you stop the exam, its answers are not saved.

Settings

• Language: Croatian, German or English. Your progress stays.
• Look: follow the device, light, dark or black.
• Text size: follow the phone, larger or largest.
• Exam date: with a date, weak questions come round in time for the exam.
• Erasing progress: every question starts over. This cannot be undone.

Pro

The study material and 15 questions are free. Pro unlocks all 300 questions, oral practice, the mock exam, the chart tasks and review. You pay once, in the app, through the App Store or Google Play.

On a new phone, sign in to the store with the same account and Pro comes back on its own, or tap Restore purchase on the Pro page. A purchase does not carry across the App Store and Google Play.
